As an outreach of a small church, we are a ministry that exists solely on the donations from people who share our heart and vision to bring freedom to those trapped in the oppressive religious system of Mormon Fundamentalism. Help us to help exiting polygamists!
Women and children who flee polygamist situations often leave with little more than the clothes on their back. A Shield and Refuge is committed to doing all we can to help meet their immediate physical needs as they transition to life "on the outside."
Will you help us? For any donation of $15 or more to our fund to provide living and emergency assistance to exiting polygamists, we'll send you a copy of the compelling autobiography, His Favorite Wife, by Susan Ray Schmidt, a former polygamist wife.

 SUPPORT A SHIELD AND REFUGE with your
TIME, TALENTS, and OTHER RESOURCES
• Make your home available for an emergency short-term stay for polygamist refugees (needs often arise with little notice).
• Be available to join a "rescue team" to help provide a safe exit for a polygamist woman (and sometimes her children) from a Fundamentalist home.
• Provide life skills training to those getting established on the outside
• Offer your professional services (legal, medical, social work, etc.) pro-bono for polygamist refugees.
• Offer employment or job training to polygamist refugees who are getting started in their life "on the outside".
• Volunteer to help with the production of Polygamy: What Love Is This? television program
